October 31st is often celebrated in conjunction with Halloween. However, the 31st of October is a historic day in the evangelical church — it is the day recognized as the day Martin Luther nailed his famous 95 Theses to door of All Saints’ Church in Wittenberg, Saxony. This very act is seen as the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
We cannot take it too lightly the significance of this day. Many of our denominations would stem from this act although I’m sure Martin Luther would not have seen it coming. The start of the common man being able to have access to a Bible in the King’s English, a King would eventually divorce his wife and break with the Catholic church, and other major things happened from this event.
It really does show the power of what one person can do with God at his side. In talking about the evangelical church history, we have to go back to the start of the Reformation.
