Is God Beyond Logic? — The Parker J Cole Show

Isaiah 55: 8-9 “ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

When I read verse like that, I am overwhelmed by the majesty of our Lord. His thoughts are so much more than our own. We see things from a limited point of view while He sees the big picture. We see it from our flawed existence while He sees it from his perfect and infinite wisdom. Yet, does that mean flawed creatures such as ourselves cannot begin to comprehend God?

Some people would suggest that God is beyond logic because of His very nature? Is He? Let’s talk about it with my returning guest, apologist and author Evan Minton. “Inspiring Southern Ambiance”

Pamela Poole is an artist and author currently living in Raleigh, NC with her husband Mark. Her novels in the Painter Place Saga take place on a fictional island along the coastline of South Carolina, between Myrtle Beach and Charleston. Her short stories “King’s Ransom” and “Windsong of the Marsh” are two of the popular legends surrounding Painter Place and are included in the story series.

As an artist, Pamela creates the paintings for her book cover designs. She was inspired to write Painter Place when her son encouraged her to write the kind of book she wanted to read but couldn’t find. Book 2 in the saga, Hugo, follows the characters at Painter Place almost five years later as they endure the historic monster hurricane of that name in 1989. Jaguar, Book 3, will be released in early March 2017 with Southern Sky Publishing. She is currently writing Landmark, Book 4.

Her love of living in the South is lavished into her subject matter, inspiring her to categorize her work as “Southern Ambiance.” She’s a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and ACFW-NC. You can “Meet the Author” on her Youtube channel and enjoy her FREE painting demos there as well. Why Stay A Christian When God Lets You Down? — The Parker J Cole Show

Parker J Cole BannerWar. Disease. Social unrest. It’s around us every day. Trial and struggle.

From global financial crisis to terrorist acts to disease and natural disasters, we are impacted by trials every day. Some of us, in fact, MOST of us, would say life is hard. Yet, maybe it’s not the major events of the world that affect us but the things in our personal lives which turn our spheres of life upside. Perhaps sickness has struck you or your loved ones. Maybe the company you worked for went under. You’ve lost precious ones in your life. Or, you’re wondering why can’t you get it together and be married and have some form of happily ever after.

Perhaps your struggle goes even deeper. Why did you have to be the one hurt and abused by those you trusted the most? Why can’t you have a child while others do? Why did the thief come and take your personal belongings? Why doesn’t seem as if nothing can go right? Why can’t you find purpose? Why can’t you be mentally balanced like ‘everyone else’?

Shouldn’t God be bigger than this? If God is so powerful, why is this so difficult. Why hold onto the faith when it seems the omnipotent Lord doesn’t do anything to help. Why stay a Christian when God lets you down?

Join me as we delve into a thought, a question, or an argument I’m sure we’ve all had with my guest co-host, Trevor Slone. Perhaps we can help. Call in at 646-668-8485, press 1 to be live on air. Or download Stitcher on your mobile device. Or, click on the link here.

Should You Only Read the King James Bible? — The Parker J Cole Show

Parker J Cole Banner

There are a lot of different Bible translations out there but one has to admit the lyrical prose of the King James Bible remains supreme for many different reasons. Part of it is that it is one of the first to be translated in English. Perhaps another is the fact it’s been in our Western culture for so long.

Yet, there are those who proclaim you should only read the King James Bible. Why is that? In the light of the many translations out there, what holds the King James Bible in such high esteem?

Join me for this discussion as I chat with pastor George McVey as we discuss the KJV only theory and more. You can call in at 646-668-8485, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download Stitcher on your mobile device. Or click on the link here: http://tobtr.com/s/9541617

The Parker J Cole Show — Which God Exists? with Evan Minton

Parker J Cole BannerPeople often wonder whether or not God exists. Yet, instead of asking, “Does God Exists?” perhaps the questions should be — “Which God exists?” If we put the question in that way, we have to assume the hypothesis that ‘God’ is a real entity worthy of investigation. If we continue to follow that line of reasoning, then the question of which God falls directly in line. How do we determine that? Does the answer matter?

Join me as returning guest and apologist Evan Minton from Cerebral Faith as he tackles the hard questions of faith and introduces his new book, “Inference to the One True God”. The Parker J Cole Show — God Against the Gods

Parker J Cole Banner

Often when we read the Bible, we may get a general idea of what the Bible is talking about. God’s love, mercy, judgement, and many other communicable and incommunicable attributes. Yet, if we delve deeper in the word, there are several times where God proclaims “I am God and there is no other god.” Yet, in today’s world, we have many people who have gods — eastern demi-gods, man-god consciousness, alien gods, gods of theory, and so forth and so on. The thing to remember is that God has been proclaiming and setting the record straight ever since the dawn of man.

Sometimes Christians feel like they have to defend God or come to God’s rescue. However, I would submit to you that God has always actively fought against the ‘gods’ of this world, whether of a spiritual nature or of our imagination.

Join me as I talked with writer and filmaker Brian Godawa as we delve into the whole realm of God against the gods as the Bible depicts it. 20160429_110247

It’s really a shock to me that I would write Christian fiction. Really it is.  I didn’t know Christian fiction existed until about 2000 or so when I happened across a store called Family Christian Stores. I went in there and saw all of these lovely books and was hooked.

My earliest memories are of books and writing. I always knew this is what I would do. I just never thought I’d be a Christian writer or a writer who is Christian.  I grew up reading Stephen King and then when I was fourteen, I discovered my first Harlequin book under my cousin’s bed that summer and got hooked onto romance. So my first loves are horror and romance. Go figure.

When I began to take my writing seriously, I had been let go at my job back in 2010.  Now I had time on my hands. I saw the computer with my manuscript I’d let linger for ten years from the time I was 18 years old and I decided to get in published no matter what. My first book, Dark Cherub, can be classified as Christian horror. (Thanks Stevie!)  It changed everything for me. I mean, everything. I worked on my first romance series, called Sins of the Flesh and that also changed things for me. I started to do podcasting, and now I am the owner of the new PJC Media, an online broadcasting company.  Yet the love of the written word is still in my veins.

I host Christian authors worldwide on my shows.  Been doing it for three years. Over the years, I’ve become something of  diplomat. The body of Christ is already so divided by denominations and the like. I don’t want to add to that unnecessarily. I don’t mind standing up for core biblical truths but when it comes to secondary, non-essentials, I don’t get too worked up over it.

I love helping Christian authors get the word out about their works. If you want to be showcased on my show, simply email me at writestuffradio at gmail dot com. I’d be glad to have you.
