There’s not a day or a week that goes by where we hear of some child being bullied by others. In fact, most of us have stories of being bullied by others in school. Growing up, I was bullied by some girls who constantly made fun of me and talked about me behind my back. Some people would say that being bullied is something that kids do and we just have to deal with it.
In today’s world, bullying has led to a host of social ills with two extremes — the bullied either commits a self-inflicted crime to get away from their attackers or they retaliate in a violent manner.
Despite this fact, it seems as if school administrators continue to keep this vicious cycle from happening. In fact, more than once, when the bullied confronts their attacker, they’re the ones reprimanded for standing up for themselves. As such, schools are for bullies.
