It is a disease that has ravaged the United States for over two hundred years and beyond. It has affected every aspect of our society from the way we dress to the way we perceive each other. Like a giant looming monster, it watches as it destroys one generation after the next, its viral effect as deadly and damaging as any infestation.
It puts people in boxes. It labels one group different from another. There have been those in the past who have worked diligently to destroy its influence but for every step forward, there have been several steps backward.
Racism in the U. S. is the insidious evil. The kind of evil that can never be good for anyone. For all the talk of the multi-culturalism and diversity, this thing still exists. One has to ask the question…will it truly ever go away.
